[Alright, our theme this time is "animals". Basically, I love animals. Currently, I'm keeping hamsters, and they're so cute I can't help myself. When I watch them run around with every fibre in their tiny bodies or eat, it's extremely healing. Although I say I love them, I'm not enough of a doting parent to keep talking to them. Only so~metimes when I'm hopelessly lonely...... yeah (laughs).][Since I moved out to Tokyo, the only pets I've kept are my current hamsters. Actually, I always wanted to keep some, but at the beginning, I kept staying in run-down apartments that ban pets. Most importantly, I didn't have the financial ability either, so I reluctantly gave up.] [We used to keep one at my family home during my kindergarten days. It's already a very long time ago, so my memories are fuzzy. It was a tricolour cat we picked up somewhere, and as I was still at an age when I was about eye to eye with the cat, I have the impression that it was huge. If it's the present, it'd be like the image of me playing with a tiger. Its name was...... What was it again. I'll try asking my granny next time.] [Anyway, I remember this clearly. During my elementary school days, we kept a dog this time. A brown Siberian husky. My father's friend let him have it, and I found out it was coming to our home around the day before. I was already looking to it so, so much I couldn't help myself. On the day itself, late at night, the dog that came riding in the back of the car was still a child and very cute. Perhaps because it was afraid of the home it had never been to, it looked at its own reflection in the window pane and kept barking at it. The gap between its tiny appearance and its low, adult-sounding bark gave me a surprise too. It was already late, and being sleepy, I was immediately reassured by getting just one look. That day, I went to sleep soundly like that.] [Siberian huskies grow big so fast it's almost shocking, but I found its huge body incredibly reassuring. I brought along it with me wherever I went. My neighborhood's snacks store, the river nearby where I always used to play, and my very own secret base, which I never even told my friends about. ] [Being absorbed in kendo during those days, I would wake up at 5 in the morning and run there barefooted with my shinai in one hand. I brought my dog along even for that. Close to my secret base, I set up some pieces of wood and used a rope to fasten a car tyre to them, then kept hitting it. Although I had no sparring partner, my dog would watch, so I got fired up too.] [And then the time came for us to part. When my mother told me that due to various issues, we wouldn't be able to keep it anymore...... I went into a daze and cried. Because I was normally a child who seldom cried, my mother realised how heavy the shock was and looked troubled too. Just like that time when it came to our home, it rode away to its next owner in the back of the car, with a way bigger frame than it had when it first came, and looking more steadily into my eyes than it did before. Oh no. I feel like crying. I won't write anymore than this (laughs). It's very depressing when you experience parting with a pet, but the happy memories outweigh that. For the next pet that comes to my home, I'll make it the most beloved and happiest pet in the world.] *********************** OMG~~ i wanna be his pet :) i cnt imagine mao when he was young and small o.O |
